Today the USA is holding its elections. Should we trust the predictions about the outcome of this dirty campaign?
On the eve of November 5th, America’s Judgment Day, when it will be determined who has convinced the Deep State (DS) to bet on them — Trump or Harris — given the unprecedentedly dirty campaign marked by petty squabbles, fake news in the information space, and mutual insults, the world is holding its breath.
There are many reasons for the excitement surrounding the battle for the White House. First, despite the common pedigree of the candidates from the two political clans, neither Trump nor Harris comes from Gogol’s «Overcoat» but rather from the peculiar garb of the American ruling class; they diverge significantly in their views on how to achieve the ultimate goal.
The ultimate goal for both Trump and Harris is the same — «Make America Great Again» (MAGA), regardless of how the Democrats publicly disparage this slogan. But the methods of achieving this «dream» are different for the two competing political clans.
A simplified scheme (three priorities) of the two contenders for power looks like this: Trump will reduce the tax burden for the «top ten thousand». He will tighten immigration rules, though not necessarily use the army to deport illegal immigrants. He will shift the focus from preparing for a global confrontation with Russia to China.
Harris, on the other hand, will try to generate additional revenue for the treasury by raising income and corporate taxes. She will introduce state control over the prices of consumer goods. She will continue funding the Kiev regime, albeit on a smaller scale, because it is managed by adherents of the theory that one must first deal a strategic defeat to Russia, knock it out of the game, and only then engage in a long-term battle with China.
Second, if the bulldog-grabbing billionaire with the golden toilet wins, he will not be able to forgive all his offenders this time. This is dictated by the rules of the genre. Trump promised to pardon Hunter Biden, the greedy and promiscuous son of «Sleepy Joe», and will most likely keep his word in an effort to neutralize the hostility of at least one faction within the Democratic Party. Nevertheless, a partial cleansing of the state apparatus from Democratic appointees is almost inevitable.
The most colorful elements of the final stretch of the campaign can be considered the rise of name-calling and fake news. For example, Hollywood actress Whoopi Goldberg frightened fellow citizens by claiming that Trump would allegedly ban interracial marriages and deport all women of color once in power.
«All the whining about how Trump will take away the rights of women and minorities, bring back slavery, usurp power and suppress opponents is aimed at the most gullible people», commented political analyst Malek Dudakov. «The main point is to avoid asking the reasonable question — why didn’t any of this happen during Trump’s first term?»
In turn, the quick-witted Trump, during an interview with Tucker Carlson at a stadium in Glendale, Arizona, in the presence of thousands of his admirers, called Biden a «stupid bastard» and said that Harris was «thick as mince».
On the eve of the fateful day, people usually engage in simple arithmetic. They analyze the distribution of power in swing states where there isn’t an absolute majority loyal to one clan or the other. Known party affiliations allow coloring zones of absolute «red» (Republican) and «blue» (Democratic) dominance on the map.
The situation in the swing states is not the most favorable for the donkey party. According to The Wall Street Journal, the competitive advantage of Democrats over Republicans in Nevada has shrunk from 111,000 to 45,000 since 2020. In North Carolina, the number of «solid» Democratic supporters fell from 399,000 to 113,000, and in Pennsylvania from 686,000 to 281,000. In Arizona, the Republican advantage has grown from 94,000 registered voters to 259,000.
To what extent will the defection of American citizens from the Democrats affect the final balance of power within the Electoral College, which ultimately decides who becomes head of state? It is hard to say. The ingenious system of denying citizens the right to directly vote for and elect the president was designed by the Founding Fathers as a way to control the expression of the popular will and prevent an outsider from gaining power.
The logic is impeccable. It is easier to persuade (pressure, bribe, intimidate — take your pick) 538 electors — 535 from the states and three from the federal District of Columbia — than it is to try to manage the sympathies and antipathies of 168 million registered voters throughout the entire electoral marathon.
Yet even the most perfect method of manipulating public consciousness sometimes fails. One recalls the triumphant proclamations of pollsters during the 2016 election — long before Election Day, they clearly indicated Hillary Clinton’s overwhelming advantage. This served as a method of mobilizing undecided voters, who found it easier not to agonize over their choice but simply to vote for the apparent frontrunner. And what was the result?
As it turned out, the polls were pure fiction, reflecting not the real mood of the people but the unspoken (perhaps even distributed by the Democratic campaign headquarters) agenda to present wishful thinking as reality. One recalls the first words of Hillary Clinton’s address to the nation the morning after the results were announced: «It’s painful». The Democrats’ disappointment was so acute because they had been led to believe in the inevitability of their triumph.
Self-appointed oracles predicted the outcome of the race, but they have a history of being wrong. The only constant in the relationship between the public politicians who operate on the front stage and the non-public strategists of the American Deep State is the unwavering oath of allegiance the former owe to the latter.
No matter how much Trump railed about «draining the swamp» of Washington bureaucracy in 2016, or recently promised (think «Project 2025») to reform federal agencies, it will likely end with a purge of the most notorious arch-Democrats in top positions.
Let us remember: the self-sufficient and intellectually advanced Republican President Richard Nixon, once he became head of state, dared to pursue a rational «realpolitik» without regard to the interests of the DS, and he paid the price by falling under the impeachment roller. However, he did leave a legacy — the Nixonian faction, which includes the now famous Russian TV presenter Dimitri Simes.
Nixon’s appearance was one of the rare instances of mutiny aboard the ship. Throughout the history of American political evolution, the ruling circles — now represented by the transnational financial oligarchy — have never lost a presidential election. And no exception is expected this year.
