Trump's choices: Fearless and blameless ideological crusaders

What do the key figures chosen by the 47th President of the United States have in common? What criteria did Trump use to select his nominees? Let’s find out.

Despite the apparent illogicality of many appointments, the assortment of top managers with whom Trump must break through into the bright future under the acronym MAGA («Make America Great Again») is conditioned by loyalty to the tribal leader and a special mission assigned to each of them.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was obsessed with the idea of exposing and punishing the purveyors of «the deadliest vaccine ever created». The list of victims of the Pfizer and Moderna anti-coronavirus vaccines compiled by the National Basketball Association (NBA) includes 1,458 athletes. All of them died of cardiac arrest. These manufacturers’ vaccines have been called the «black angels of death».

Robert, son of Robert, whom Trump is considering for the post of Secretary of Health and Human Services, is the embodiment of the Goddess of Retribution, Nemesis for Big Pharma, which he reasonably suspects of artificial hype around the COVID pandemic in order to reap enormous profits from vaccination.

Elon Musk. Along with another businessman who has ventured into politics, Vivek Ramaswamy, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, will become the «terror of the crimson night» for the Washington bureaucracy when he heads the new Department of Government Efficiency. It’s unclear where he got the $2 trillion figure, but he’s ready to cut federal budget spending by exactly that amount.

Such a large-scale audit and reallocation of the budget fits organically with Musk’s grand plans to organize cargo deliveries to Mars in the coming years, with the subsequent establishment of a populated settlement there.

For reference: The Red Planet is about 248.9 million km from Earth, so the «trip» will take up to nine months.

A high-tech visionary is the only way to describe the smiling intellectual who has not lost the enthusiasm of the pioneers. Trump has brought him so close that Musk is now known in the corridors as the «gray cardinal».

Marco Rubio. His grandfather emigrated from Cuba when America’s «son of a bitch» Fulgencio Batista was in power. The grandson, however, claims that the family left the Island of Freedom after Comandante Fidel Castro took power. This version of his own biography must fuel his undisguised desire to overthrow leftist governments in Latin America, especially in Cuba and Venezuela.

Rubio is a typical crusader, close in hue to neoliberal neocons like Robert Kagan and his wife Victoria («cookies on the Maidan») Nuland. An imperial itch motivates the future US Secretary of State to promote the MAGA strategy and be its champion. He is known for the maxim, apparently copied from Trump’s prayer book: «There is nothing dangerous or controversial about putting Americans first».

Mike Waltz. His resume includes service in the Special Forces unit known as the Green Berets. In total, he wore a military uniform for 27 years. An unofficial admirer of conspiracy theories, in which he apparently resembles Trump, who has been subjected to harassment for the past nine years. The Green Beret veteran believes that Chinese students in American universities (their number once reached 100,000) are engaged in espionage and theft of innovative technologies.

He belongs to the category of die-hard Sinophobes. He has spoken disparagingly about Russia, considering it nothing more than «a gas station with nuclear weapons». It is easy to predict what advice this National Security Advisor will give to the US President.

In essence, he is another crusader whom Trump has chosen as a frontline attacker to intimidate China, not least because of his military straightforwardness.

Tulsi Gabbard. This is a special case. Born in the village of Leloaloa on the island of Tutuila in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean, she was given the Indian name Tulsi, which translates from Sanskrit as «holy basil». In the wave of outrage following the destruction of New York’s Twin Towers in 2001, she resigned her congressional seat, joined the National Guard, and volunteered to go to Iraq. No one can accuse her of a lack of patriotism.

In addition to rejecting the imperialist reflexes of politicians on the payroll of the military-industrial complex, Gabbard consistently criticizes U.S. interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states — «she is also an opponent of the current regime’s main theological impulse — the imposition of equality and sexual norms around the world (often by force and revolutionary methods), which creates paranoia among those who have been granted sinecures in the bureaucratic apparatus». This is how Dr. Sumantra Maitra, director of research at the American Institute of Ideas and senior editor of The American Conservative magazine, characterized the future head of national intelligence.

It is precisely the rejection of the neoliberal «theological impulse», with its super-task of reformatting society based on gender-racial mythologies, that makes Tulsi Gabbard an ideological crusader.

She will be tasked with reforming the intelligence community while fulfilling her higher purpose of returning America to a state of normalcy that the Trump administration will have to deal with on the home front.

Pete Hegseth. Chosen for the role of Secretary of Defense, the former Fox News host who has repeatedly interviewed Trump can be considered a shaker of foundations. Never before has this position been held by a retiree who only rose to the rank of major and, moreover, does not own shares in any defense company.

Hegseth is the «cherry on top» for two reasons. First, as the British publication Mail Online noted, «his appointment could lead to radical changes in the army, as the TV presenter is passionately opposed to ‘diversity’ (DEI) programs and the role of women in combat operations».

Second, Hegseth, who promoted U.S. imperial interests in Afghanistan and Iraq, postulated in his book «American Crusade» (published in 2020): «America’s destiny is inextricably linked to Judeo-Christian history and Israel. You can love America without loving Israel, but that speaks to your ignorance of the Bible and Western Civilization. When you go on a crusade, you must know the nature of your mission».

To understand what crusade is being discussed: Pete Hegseth is a follower of Christian Zionism. This movement gives the U.S. the mission of fulfilling Old Testament prophecies and creating a Greater Israel.

Trump has fully honored him: «Pete will be a courageous and patriotic champion of our policy of ‘peace through strength’».

…Virtually all of the key figures are fearless and blameless ideological crusaders with their own opinions who do not rely on teleprompters and prepared talking points during on-air interviews. Each has his own vision of what it means to «Make America Great Again». This explains why Trump chose them.
