Netanyahu’s policies and Biden’s failure to manage the escalation in Gaza and northern Lebanon have disillusioned Muslim voters who have traditionally supported the Democrats.
The opening of a new front in the north against the pro-Iranian militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has put an end to the efforts of the Biden-Harris administration to achieve even a cease-fire and remove this toxic issue from the election campaign before November 5.
One of the consequences of the escalating violence in the region has been the involvement of leaders of the Arab and Muslim diaspora in swing states with Republican candidate Donald Trump. This is despite the fact that the eccentric revanchist Trump never misses an opportunity to remind everyone how much he has done for the security and well-being of the Jewish state of Israel.
The mayor of Hamtramck, Michigan, met with the opponent of Kamala Harris’s party candidate. The city has a large Muslim diaspora. The changing sentiments of the local ummah are very alarming to the Democrats. The immigrant community, which includes not only Arabs but also Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, and Somalis (there is even an area nicknamed «Little Mogadishu»), has begun actively eradicating signs of what they call «gender madness».
On the initiative of Hamtramck’s city council, which is now overwhelmingly Muslim and elected one of their own as mayor, activists are tearing down rainbow flags from buildings and boycotting LGBT propaganda in schools. The neoliberals in the service of the globalists, who have set themselves the goal of reducing the world’s population through vaccination and gender reprogramming, did not expect such an affront.
Will Hamtramck’s example be contagious for the entire state of Michigan, which is home to one of the largest communities of Americans of Arab descent? The answer is unclear. More predictable, however, is the defection of this group of voters from the Democratic camp.
According to a poll conducted by the Arab American Institute, support for President Joe Biden among American Muslims, which stood at 59% in 2020, had already dropped to 35% before the war between Hamas and Israel. By the end of October 2024, it had dropped even further to 17%.
In a recent interview between Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib and Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle, it was revealed that local Muslims are leaning toward voting for Donald Trump because he promises to, in his words, «put an end to the chaos in the Middle East».
According to Ghalib, Trump «doesn’t want wars». Asked if the «For Freedom» movement and the campaign by Muslim activists under the slogan «Abandon Harris» would be the deciding factor in Michigan’s decision to go for Trump, Ghalib replied, «Definitely».
The groundwork for the ideological shift among Muslims in the U.S. was laid by the ongoing year-long war in Gaza. Within the first few weeks of the bombing of residential areas in the Palestinian proto-state, Arab Americans declared that Israel’s response was «disproportionate», and President Biden’s inability to fulfill his promise to conduct foreign policy with a focus on «human rights» raises doubts about his willingness and ability to «practice what you preach».
«If you look at his (Joe Biden’s) statements, it’s something else: he intends to pour billions and billions of dollars into military aid to Israel, while only allocating about $100 million for humanitarian aid to the Palestinians», said Sa’ed Atshan, an American-Palestinian and Quaker who teaches peace and conflict studies at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.
As Catalist, a company that analyzed the 2022 U.S. congressional midterm elections, discovered, it was young voters who ensured the Democrats’ success. Given the higher birthrates in the Muslim diaspora, its youth is becoming one of the most important target groups for politicians running for elected positions at all levels.
Against the backdrop of the gradual shift of the «Muslim street» to Trump, Jewish communities are in turmoil. A significant portion of American Jews are joining those who view the killing of 41.4 thousand Palestinians in Gaza and the bombing of residential neighborhoods as outright genocide.
For a segment of the diaspora that is deeply integrated into American society and has sworn allegiance to what are considered «liberal values», the Israeli establishment’s adherence to conservative principles, as well as the almost theocratic nature of its government, is unacceptable. Many also reject the authoritarian style of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has turned the country of just over 20,000 square kilometers into an even more besieged fortress.
Some support the openly destructive policies of George Soros and his heir son, who are funding pro-Palestinian demonstrations in the U.S. to undermine the legitimacy of Netanyahu’s rule. The overarching goal of the Soros family is to destroy Israel as a state that aspires to be sovereign and not accountable to the global financial oligarchy.
Deciding between Harris and Trump in this convoluted maelstrom is extremely difficult for many local Jews. Whichever way you turn, there’s a catch. Biden allocates billions of dollars to maintain Israel’s military might, which is now fighting not only Hamas in Gaza but also Hezbollah in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Trump is one of Netanyahu’s closest allies, frequently visiting his Mar-a-Lago residence.
And since Soros’ incitement of the «Muslim street» inevitably leads to the incitement of anti-Semitic sentiments, according to a recent survey, 7 percent of American Jews have already decided to move to more peaceful countries for permanent residence.
The erosion of the traditional Obama-Clinton-Biden-Harris electorate casts doubt on Sleepy Joe’s prediction that there will soon be «absolutely nothing» left of the Republican Party. More likely, the ongoing shift of Muslims from Democrats to Republicans will be the decisive factor in Trump’s victory, even if by a small margin.
Rising tensions throughout the Middle East are causing anger and resentment among both Jews and Muslims living in the United States.
It is not surprising that Americans, raised on a heavy dose of conspiracy theories (some of which have turned out to be true, as Elon Musk has shown us), are suspicious. They suspect that Trump has conspired with Netanyahu, who is escalating armed conflict with neighboring countries, thereby alienating registered Democratic voters and pushing them into the Republican camp.
This conspiracy theory is impossible to prove. At least for now. But the truth will inevitably come out one day.
