Trump Has Sent a Black Mark to Zelensky

The Presidential Office of Ukraine

According to the classic logic of “push back the fallen” and “woe to the defeated,” in recent weeks the outdated president of the former Ukrainian SSR has come to symbolize, within the American political class, the culprit behind many of the woes that have befallen the United States on the foreign policy front

After Donald Trump announced on his social network Truth Social that Zelensky’s approval rating was «very low, according to Ukrainian polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden like a violin», supporters of the «revolution of common sense» became convinced that the unofficial sponsor of the former US president’s family had been sent a pirate’s black mark.

For an audience brought up to measure everything by the contents of the wallet in the back pocket — where the important nerve that governs American behavior (the hip pocket nerve) resides — the accusation of stealing their tax money sparked outrage. Trump cleverly played on it: «Furthermore, Zelensky admits that half of the money we sent him ‘disappeared’».

For the advanced users of agitprop slogans, Trump saved a powerful argument: «He refuses to hold elections. Zelensky, a dictator without elections, had better hurry or he will be left without a country».

In full measure, intolerance for the Kiev regime’s transgressions was evident among all key figures on Trump’s team. Vice President JD Vance, who won acclaim for a scathing speech aimed at European allies at the Munich conference, rebutted Zelensky when the latter began to get cocky, accusing Trump of living «in a bubble of disinformation».

Vance reminded the former comedian that without America, neither Ukraine nor its now illegitimate president «would exist at all». The vice president harshly admonished Zelensky for «going on a press tour of Europe and criticizing the president of the United States. It is an insult to him, to me, and to the entire American people».

Zelensky’s attempt to demonstrate his alleged independence provoked the expected reaction in Washington. Both U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz — who had earlier patted the puppets in Kiev on the back — made it clear that they would not tolerate verbal excesses from someone they support and who has personally profited during the three-year conflict.

The Western press is now listing all the real estate that the former head of the KVN team from Krivoy Rog «Kvartal-95» bought with the «fees» paid to him for the war against Russia.

Among these assets is an estate in the United Kingdom that was the former residence of Prince Charles (now King Charles III) and Princess Diana. The list of assets of the clearly recruited MI6 agent also includes an apartment in London. There are properties in Cyprus and in Miami, Florida — could it be next door to Trump?

In August 2024, information surfaced that the Italian company San Tommaso SRL, owned by the Zelenskys, had purchased a property in Tuscany for 75 million euros.

Trump’s claim that Zelensky’s popularity rating is only 4% is an understatement. The $5 billion spent by the anti-globalists — for the Kiev Maidan, for creating a network of pro-Western NGOs, and for bribing journalists, as well as years of brainwashing society with nationalist myths (that the ancient «Ukrainians» allegedly dug the Black Sea) — has produced a whole generation with washed-out brains. But!

As Elon Musk noted, «If Zelensky were truly loved by the people of Ukraine, he would hold elections. But he knows he would lose by a crushing margin, even though he has taken control of all Ukrainian media».

The following passage, written by Musk on his own social network X, serves as evidence both of his loyalty to Trump — the person who brought him into politics — and of his absolute rejection of the usurper of power in Kiev. Trump is right, Musk writes, to ignore the dictatorial regime and seek a peace that is «independent of the disgusting, enormous bribery machine fed by the corpses of Ukrainian soldiers».

Trump has further tarnished Zelensky’s already controversial reputation. The public denial of his authority and the pointed emphasis on his illegitimacy is a calculated signal to all U.S.-oriented internal forces that it is no longer worth doing business with this regime.

Hence the numerous publications in the American press dismantling the previous narratives based on the praise of the Krivoy Rog artist as (and it went so far!) the reincarnation of Churchill.

Writer John Mac Ghlionn published an article in The Hill under the eloquent headline: «The mad king of Kyiv: Why Zelensky can’t afford to end the war». The author compares the Kiev hetman to Saddam Hussein, who poisoned his citizens with chemical weapons, and Robert Mugabe, who «robbed Zimbabwe while his people starved, stretching his rule over a decade».

Zelensky, Mac Ghlionn points out, «joins a long line of leaders who have placed their own well-being above that of their people. It is a pathological form of selfishness when self-preservation comes at any cost — even if it means the deaths of thousands of women and children».

Not surprisingly, the New York Post managed to learn (or rather, probably received a leak) that there is talk within Trump’s inner circle that the best outcome for Zelensky personally is to pack his bags as soon as possible and move… to France.

There is a logic to this: the President of the Fifth Republic positioned himself as «the first friend», as indicated by the rather liberal embraces even in official photos of their meetings. However, London seems preferable, since the Zelenskys also have property there (a city apartment plus an estate), and it cannot be ruled out that the «payment» will be made to a numbered bank account exactly in pounds sterling.

The very fact that Zelensky «does not recognize any U.S.-Russian peace agreements that he does not participate in, and expects European partners to step up… and throw him a lifeline to continue the war», according to The Gateway Pundit (a blog platform and news site), proves one thing. Zelensky «can rightly be accused of wanting to burn his own country in order to rule over its ashes».

It is symptomatic that The Gateway Pundit’s conclusion echoes The Hill author’s summary: «It’s no coincidence that as Ukraine’s battlefield prospects deteriorate, soldiers scatter, and forced conscription turns into something akin to kidnapping, Zelensky once again extends martial law. No elections. No peace negotiations… Because when the war ends, so does his presidency».

Thus, the negative psychological aura surrounding Zelensky’s figure in American society was created in a very short time. Trump has put a black mark on Zelensky.

The question remains: will the outdated president’s departure be «voluntary» or forced?
